Eden Valley Produce Co.
Eden Valley Produce Co. is having a great tomato season this year and are offering the co-op an opportunity to buy their delicious heirloom tomatoes in bulk. “We grow the most nutrient dense heirloom tomatoes available. Perhaps even on the planet. I’ve used refractometry to measure sugar content, and I have yet to find another tomato commercially or locally as dense. We grow almost exclusively open pollinated heirlooms including but not limited to Brandywines (in three colors), Old Germans (in two colors), Pineapples, and Cherokee Purples. We are not USDA certified, but adhere to the same or better standards. We inject humic acid (a form of peat moss) and water soluble organic fertilizer into our drip system so the plants are constantly being fed, and in the off season we rotate animals, then cover crops into our fallow fields. So we use water wisely and our soils are constantly improving.”
Tomatoes are $70 for a 20 lb box.
Eden Valley Produce Co. also raises chickens for eggs. “We do have a flock of between 60 and 200 laying hens that lay white, brown, and green eggs at any given time. As we hatch chicks, we sell laying birds, too, so the flock size ebbs and flows. They free range and their diet is augmented with brown Flax to increase Omega-3’s. Chicken eggs’ Omega-3 content is really easily influenced by dietary fat.”
Eggs are $5.25 per dozen.
The drop will be September 15th and October 6th.
The September 15th drop will be at 7540 Dean Martin between 6:30-7:00pm.
The tomatoes are at their prime mid-September so we will be doing a drop for tomatoes and eggs ONLY on September 15th.
