It’s that time again….time to plant seeds! This time of the year I feel so full of excitement as I pour over my seed catalogs and dream of the garden prizes to come. Every year I plant my saved seeds then buy a few more to try. One of my new favorite places to shop for wonderful seeds has been Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, they have an incredible variety of beautiful fruits and veggies. You can also purchase seeds from Azure Standard. Last year my friend over at Homespun Sprout posted a super handy tool to calculate the planting dates of several veggies by your locations last frost date (the date for Vegas is February 16th). Planting food from seed is incredibly rewarding, it is amazing watching little tiny seeds sprout into life and become something useful. I have a sense of pride when I serve my family my hard earned food and feel as though I am somehow just a bit closer  to my roots. Happy planting!!!!
